You have chosen your dream venue, found the perfect wedding dress, food and décor sorted, selected a fab photographer to capture the moments… now all you need is some incredible entertainment for your guests to enjoy.

This is where I can help make your day completely unforgettable with some mesmerising close-up magic.

With several packages available, you can utilise my entertainment as an icebreaker during your photos at the drinks reception, or even the whole day “Spellbound” package, which gives you amazing entertainment for the entire day, from drinks reception all the way until your first dance!

Magic is a great solution for your wedding day, as it is great for all ages, a universal language that everyone can understand. It is also one of the most memorable forms of entertainment you can use, one that EVERYONE will be talking about. Past couples often mention that their guests still remember the magic, days, weeks, months and sometimes years later!

Another great thing to consider is that the magic is very engaging and brings people together. Guests can witness the incredible experience of laughter, joy and wonder - I then move on to wow and amaze another group, leaving them to discuss the fun and impossible illusions they saw moments before.

My entertainment also solves the problem of how to fill the slower moments during the day and keeps everything flowing from start to finish. Your photographer or videographer can capture the astonishment – imagine the looks on your guests faces you have never seen before.

I recommend having my magic after the ceremony, before you sit down for the wedding breakfast. This part is known as the drinks reception and is typically 90 mins to 2 hours in duration. You can relax knowing that your guests are looked after while you concentrate on your photographs.

The other time I recommend, would be after the wedding breakfast leading into the evening reception. This is a great time too, whilst the DJ or Band set up and also helps integrate your evening guests with your day guests seamlessly. This duration is typically 2 – 3 hours as there are more guests to entertain at this stage of the wedding.

By the way, the wedding breakfast is the meal. Some couples get confused why ‘breakfast’ is mentioned halfway through the day. I believe it is called the wedding breakfast because it is the first meal you share as a married couple. Aww…

I also reserve a special piece of magic for the happy couple which creates a memorable souvenir for you both to keep. (The souvenir is a secret, but you will find out on the day, which is another surprise for you to look forward to) This piece of magic is INCLUDED in any package you choose.

A little background on myself. My name is Grant Maidment, I was born in Bath and possibly more well known as, ‘The Bath Magician’. I became interested in magic at 12 years old and performed at my first professional shows when I was 18.

Recently, I reached the tender age of 40 years old and celebrated 10 years as a full-time Magician.      I am insured with Equity, the professional actors union, up to 10 million pounds (never had to use it) and I am a proud member of the The ‘World Famous’ Magic Circle, in London. This is not just any magic club and includes members like David Copperfield, Dynamo and other big names in magic. Currently, there are only 1,700 members in the ‘entire world’ of this prestigious club, proving what an honour it is to be involved in such a niche collection of artists.

Founded in 1905, the purpose of The Magic Circle is to promote and advance the art of magic.

You have to be proposed and seconded by two current members, then you need to audition to see if you are good enough to join. You are assessed by 3 judges who will mark you, before being accepted. (If you score sufficiently) The judges are mainly looking for the performer’s skills in presentation, technical-ability and entertainment value, as well as some originality in character or methodology.

I have been a member since 2011 and is one of my achievements that still makes me smile with pride to this day. Did you know that I am also a multi award winning magician, being voted champion of the Bath Circle of Magicians and Bristol Society of Magic “Close Up Magician of the Year” on several occasions.

Therefore, if you choose my entertainment for your special day, you will be hiring a professional, with many years of experience in magic and a wedding specialist who can bring a lot of impact and value to you and your guests.

If you are thinking how far in advance you need to secure your entertainment? I do tend to get booked 1 to 2 years in advance. You may get lucky with some last-minute availability, but my advice would be to book now… before I disappear! (sorry I couldn’t resist)
